SCSI Troubleshooting

If you receive error messages reporting trouble with the SCSI communications, complete this procedure before you contact Cyberware Support.

Procedure

  1. Select Open Scanner... from the Scanner menu.

  1. Verify the device number on the back of the SCSI box. The device number is set by the arrow on the dial, not by the indented line on the dial.

  2. In the SCSI Configure Dialog, click on the SCSI Target pop-up list. Select the device number from the list. For example, if the Cyberware SCSI box is set to 5, then choose "0 5" from the list.

If the numbers that pop up (with gray pop-up background) are different from those that originally appear in this control panel (with blue pop-up background), then you must modify the CyScan configuration file. You need not continue with this procedure. Please continue to the Configuration File Update page.

  1. Test the communications between the workstation and the SCSI box by pressing the Inquire button. You should notice that the green light on the front of the SCSI box will flicker briefly. Also, the SCSI Configure dialog box will change as illustrated below:

  1. Press the Reset Driver button to clear the memory in the SCSI box.

  2. Press the Load Driver button to automatically load the appropriate SCSI device driver. The SCSI Configure dialog should now look like the illustration below (the only change will be to the box directly above the green "Save Configuration" button, which will change from "R1.x" to "D1.x"):

  1. Close the SCSI Configure dialog by pressing the Dismiss button.
