License Key Installation
CySlice, whether running as an evaluation/demonstration or as a licensed product, does
require a valid unlocking license. All licenses acquired from Cyberware are for a single
workstation ONLY, unless a floating license or a dongle-enabled version of the
software is requested PRIOR to installation. There is an additional fee associated
with floating licenses and dongle-enabled software.
The unlocking keys for CySlice are generated the first time a user attempts to run the
software and will be presented in an MS-DOS Command Prompt window.
To initiate the unlocking follow the process below:
- Verify the computer's system ID number:
- Open the headus 3D tools control panel by selecting:
Start Menu >> Programs >> headus >> about headus 3D tools.
![[about headus 3D tools]](support/windows/cyslice/images/headusTools.gif) |
| about headus 3D tools Panel |
|
Note the Ether entry (near the middle of the window).
- Click the blue Refresh button. Does the Ether value change?
If it does change, proceed to the next step.
If it does not change, exit the headus 3D tools and continue to the next section of this guide.
- If the Ether value changes each time you hit the Refresh button, complete this procedure:
- Right-click My Computer, then select Properties.
- Click on the Advanced tab.
- In the bottom section, titled System variables, press the New... button.
- Enter the following:
Variable Name: HEADUS_NETBIOS
Variable Value: 1
- Hit the 3 OK buttons to accept the changes.
- Reboot the computer.
- Continue with the procedure from Step 1.
- Attempt to run the CySlice by double-clicking its icon on the desktop, or by selecting:
Start Menu >> Programs >> headus >> CySlice.
This will return 5 rows of hexadecimal characters to an MS-DOS Command Prompt, similar to
the sample below:
cyslice
cyslice: License not found, or expired, for cyslice
If you don't have a key yet, or wish to
extend your license, contact your vendor,
quote them this code string, and they
will give you one.
First time code string :
row 1 : ac 4f a2 5f 21
row 2 : 53 81 7d 14 6b
row 3 : 4e 32 8f 0c 1d
row 4 : e2 82 83 8c 83
row 5 : 3f 8e 5f 0b e7
|
- Forward the 5 rows of hexadecimal characters to
Cyberware Support, who
will generate the appropriate unlocking key(s) for you.
- After receiving the unlocking key(s) from Cyberware Support, attempt to run
the software again. When prompted, type in the unlocking key.
- A sample unlocking key is provided below:
|
ce ad d6 de d0 6a d3 89 eo 23 e1 xv v8 87 84 ab 73 # product 6909ab9a never 1000
|
Please note that the software unlocking key must be typed in exactly the
same format as the example above. Any deviation from the format will result in
the license being invalid. Each license key should occupy only one line in the
keys file, and there should be no blank lines between multiple unlocking keys.
If you have problems with the installation, please contact
Cyberware Support for assistance.
