Scan Manager

This section of the tutorial will show you how to enter scan information into the Scan Manager, then start the scanning process.

  1. Select 'Database | Scan Manager...'.

    The Scan Manager window will now open.

  3. Verify that the Project Name and Project Type are correct. If these are not what you would expect, then return to the Project Manager tutorial to correct the values.
  4. Enter the Group Identifier next to "Group". The Group field is a value used to identify the group to which the subject belongs. This value could be a department, division, platoon or any other term that is a meaningful description of the group for the current project.
  5. Enter the scan subject's ID into the "ID" field. This entry identifies a specific scan subject within the Group. Examples of typical IDs are things such as an employee ID or social security number.
  6. Using the Subject radio buttons, select the sex of the subject; Male or Female. Your Scan Manager should appear similar to the illustration below:

  8. Position the subject on the scanning platform and explain the scanning process to the subject. If you need more information on subject positioning, please consult the Setup instructions.
  9. Scan the subject:
    1. Click the Scan button to take a scan of the subject. The program will show Busy while the scan is in progress.

    3. When the scan is complete, the scan image appears on the main display screen and the Scan Manager changes to display the Save, Rotate and Redo buttons.

    5. Press the Rotate button to view the image from all sides in order to determine if the scan is acceptable. An acceptable scan is one with no signs of movement or outside light interference. For examples of some of the factors that cause an unacceptable scan, please refer to the Problems with Data section of this user guide.
      1. If the scan is not acceptable, press Redo to return to the previous screen. Correct any problems, as necessary, such as the position of the subject or light interference from the surroundings, then Scan again.
      2. If the scan is acceptable, press the Save button to place the scan into the current database.
    6. Continue this process until all subjects have been scanned.
    7. Close the Scan Manager by clicking the Window Close Button at the top right of the window.
    8. Continue to import data into the current project.
