The Point Batch provides a way to identify points on a large number of scans, at one time. The points that you pick will be used in the automatic measurement extraction process. This step is required in order to process data that is captured on a Cyberware Head & Face scanner.
You are now ready to identify, select and save the points that will be used to generate measurements in DigiSize. Through the course of this section of the tutorials, you will be interacting with the Point Form and with the Pick Points (manual) dialog. We cannot stress enough the importance of accurately selecting each of these points. Their location is vital to the generation of the automatic measurements.
The Point Batch window will now appear on your screen.
You should notice that the scan we worked with in the Point Form tutorial shows up in the main display window. All of the points that we defined in that tutorial are displayed (very quickly) as they are recognized by the software. Just after this, the software will move to the next scan in the list.
The Pick Point (manual) window will open as soon as the software encounters and undefined point. This window provides a description of the current point to help the user to find the correct place on the scanned data. If you require further information on a point, click the Definition... button. The software will display a more accurate text description of the point along with a graphical representation of the point.
If the software that asks for a point that is difficult to choose, simply choose a point that is close or exclude that point from your project. Some of the sample data sets will have points that are difficult to define due to hair covering the ear, temples or brow line.
NOTE:
---
The nose is the first point that the software requests, and it must be selected before any other points can be defined by this procedure.
The software will now proceed to the next point automatically. It will make a guess as to the location of the next point and display that guess in the outlined box in the main display window.
