Reset the USB Link

This page will list the steps required to reset the Cyberware USB drivers if there are problems with Windows Plug-and-Play or if the user did not properly install the system drivers.

  1. Download the latest CyScan.
  2. Turn off the scanner.
  3. Uninstall CyScan using the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. If you require a step-by-step procedure, please consult the software removal instructions.
  4. Download 'USBPrepV##.exe'.
  5. Run 'USBPrepV##.exe' by double-clicking the icon.
  6. When USBPrep finished, reboot the PC.
  7. Install the latest version of CyScan (downloaded above) into the same location as the version that you removed in step 3 (above).
  8. Copy your license file (keys.txt) into the '...\Cyberware\CyScan\lib\' folder, if necessary.
  9. Turn on the scanner.
  10. Launch CyScan.
  11. Select the appropriate scanner, if necessary.
  12. Home the scanner by selecting Scanner | Home...
  13. If any error messages appear, send the following to Cyberware Support:

    1. Copy the complete text of the error message.
    2. Capture the error info from the Tcl Console:
      1. Open the Tcl Console (CTRL + F5 or 'Options | Tcl Console...').
      2. Type ei into the Tcl Console window.
      3. Copy the FULL TEXT in that window (you may need to scroll up or down to see all of the information).
