Reset Scanner Configuration

Overview

This procedure may be used to reset the scanner's EEPROM to the factory default settings. It is very important that the procedure be followed in the order presented here. It is also very important to STOP the procedure if you encounter any behavior from the software that is not explained here. If you do encounter any problems, contact Cyberware Support as soon as practical with an explanation of where the problem occurred in this procedure and a screen shot of any error messages.

  1. Copy all of the configuration file backups from the Cyberware Software CD-ROM into the '...\Program Files\Cyberware\CyScanÏgu\' folder. Create this folder if it does not exist. Also, overwrite any existing file in the cfgu folder.
  2. Use Windows Explorer to verify that the file exists in the '...\Program Files\Cyberware\CyScanÏgu\' folder.
  3. Launch CyScan by clicking on the 'CyScan.exe' icon in the '...\Program Files\Cyberware\CyScan\bin\' folder.
  4. !!DO NOT USE THE DESKTOP SHORTCUT OR ANY ICON IN THE START MENU!!

  5. Choose 'Scanner | Select Device...'.
  6. Highlight your Cyberware Color Device, called 'XX-####-uc.txt' in the listing by clicking on it ONE TIME.
  7. Select the Properties... button.
  8. Select the Configure button. The EEPROM Editor window will now open (EEPROM Editor - dev_uc_ee dialog).
  9. !!Be very sure to use only the 'dev uc' dialog!!

  10. Click the Open Cfg... button in the EEPROM Editor window. (Note: there may be a delay while CyScan looks for a workstation in the Cyberware Domain.)
  11. A Windows file browser will appear on your screen.

  12. If necessary, navigate into the '...\Program Files\Cyberware\CyScanÏgu\' folder using the Windows file browser.
  13. In the Choose a Scanner dialog, select these files by clicking on them ONE TIME (use CTRL + LMB); 'XX-####-uc-FACTORY.txt, XX-####-um-FACTORY.txt and XX-####-ud-FACTORY.txt'.
  14. Click Open.
  15. In the EEPROM Editor window, select the Accept button.
  16. Exit CyScan.
  17. Reboot the computer.
  18. Launch CyScan using the desktop shortcut or from the Start menu.
  19. Attempt to acquire a scan. If you receive any error messages, please capture them in a screenshot and forward to Cyberware Support for evaluation.
  20. Notify Cyberware Support of the outcome of this procedure.
