User Guide Installation

These instructions are for Windows-based PCs and assume a working knowledge of Windows and general workstation setup procedures.

CyScan

The user guide for CyScan is installed as part of the typical installation process, so no further action is required from the end user. This user guide is immediately accessible by selecting 'Help | General Help...' in the main CyScan window. Alternately, the user may point a web browser to the "%CYSCAN_HOME%/guides/index.html" file to manually load the CyScan User Guide.

The latest version of this user guide is also available from the Cyberware web site.

We suggest that the CyScan user guide be read in its entirety. Then the user should proceed to the Tutorials section of the user guide in order to duplicate the examples there and gain experience in scanning.

headus Tools (CyDir, CySurf, CySlice, etc.)

This section describes the installation process for the various headus software user guides and how to access those user guides after installation. The headus software user guides are located on the Cyberware Installation CD in the user_guides folder and are not automatically installed, rather the user must install them. Note that all of the headus software user guides are always available in their latest form on the WWW and may be downloaded directly. Please contact Cyberware Support for the user name and password to access the on-line user guides.

To install the headus software guides, follow this procedure:

  1. Acquire the user guide files using one of the methods described above.
  2. Select 'Start | Programs | headus | About 3D tools'. This will open the headus 3D tools Control Panel:
