These instructions are for Windows-based scanners and assume a working knowledge of Windows and general workstation setup procedures.
If you do not have a Cyberware scanner, you must install generic configuration files in order to receive full functionality from the software. These generic configuration files are used to tell the software what type of data you will be working with; Whole Body or Head & Face. Skip this step if you own a Cyberware scanner.
This procedure will enable the user to control which scanner is loaded into CyScan by default. If no change is made here, the software will attempt to load the first scanner that it finds. If you have more than one scanner, this setup step will greatly reduce the time necessary to launch the software. It can be helpful to create a CyScan shortcut for each scanner to give a user the fastest route to the appropriate scanner.

"C:\Program Files\Cyberware\CyScan\bin\CyScan.exe" -autocfg,first
| Motion Platform | Target Entry |
|---|---|
| Head & Face | -autocfg,PS |
| Whole Body | -autocfg,WB |
For example, if you will be using the Head & Face Tutorials or a Cyberware Head & Face 3D Scanner, the line should look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Cyberware\CyScan\bin\CyScan.exe" -autocfg,PS
This procedure will enable a user to define a directory that the software will start in. This is very helpful if one would like to always store scans in a common directory. This procedure may be applied to any of the Cyberware software programs.

For example, replace the contents of this variable with "C:\Program Files\Cyberware\CyScanÚta\" and each time you start the program, it will start in the "C:\Program Files\Cyberware\CyScanÚta\" folder (if it exists-you must create the folder).
