Head & Face Scanner Disassembly
Many of the parts described herein are very heavy; care and proper equipment should be
used to put them in place. All of the parts contain either carefully aligned or sensitive
electronic assemblies. Take extreme care not to damage or jar the systems.
We highly recommend that you consult with Cyberware Support
before you begin the disassembly process.
Requirements
- 3 people
- M10 Hex Wrench
- M8 Hex Wrench
- 3/16" Hex Wrench
- Small Straight-Blade Screwdriver
- Adjustable Pliers
- Bungee Cord
- 3030 Shipping Box
- 4 Shipping Blankets (to use as padding for the vertical arm and the PS Motion Platform)
Procedure
- Place the dustcover over the scan head(s).
- Power down the scanner.
- Unplug the power cord from the AC socket and from the power supply.
- Place the AC power cord into a shipping box.
- Disconnect the cable assembly from the digitizer head(s).
- Disconnect the cable assembly from the power supply.
- Place the power supply into a shipping box.
- Move the subject chair away from the scanner and package it for shipment.
- Roll up the PX Floor Mat and place it into the shipping crate.
- Attach the shipping arm by installing the five (5) 1/4" hex bolts on the plywood arm clamp.
- Remove the Subject Centering Device and place it into a shipping box.

| For this section of the disassembly procedure, there must be three (3)
able-bodied people to perform these steps. Using fewer people may result in damage to the
sensitive scan heads or personal injury. |
- Remove the Scan Arm Assembly:
- In a star pattern, remove half of the M8Ã-25 cap screws from the flange that connects
the Motion Arm to the Scanhead Assembly.
- While two people steady the Scanhead Assembly, one person should now remove the remaining
M8Ã-25 cap screws.
- Remove the Scanhead Assembly from the Motion Arm by lifting the Scanhead Assembly off of
the "hook".
- Place the Scanhead Assembly into the shipping crate and secure it to the crate.
- While one person steadies the Motion Arm, one person should remove the M8Ã-25 cap screws
from the Motion Arm Flange in a star pattern.
- Place the Motion Arm into the shipping crate and secure it to the crate.
- Place the Motion Base into the shipping crate and secure it to the crate.
- Seal all shipping boxes and mark them for easy identification.
- Place all shipping boxes into the shipping crate and secure them.
- Verify that all parts in the shipping crate are securely tied down and ready for transport.
- Assemble the crate sides and top.
- Secure the crate with klimps and lag bolts.
- Carefully transport the scanner to the new location.
