Software Update Information

To determine whether or not you require a software update, please select one of the following links to check your currently installed versions with the current shipping version:

• Current Versions List at the Cyberware WWW site, or...
• Contact Cyberware Support via e-mail, telephone or facsimile.

How to Find Version Numbers

• For CyDir, CyEat, CyPie, Guee, CyEdit, and CySurf:
  1. Launch the particular program by typing its name at an IRIX prompt.
  2. Use Button 1 to click one time on the blue title bar of the program.
  3. The version number will be displayed in the pop-up window.
  4. Click one time on the Continue button in the pop-up window when you are finished.

• For EchoTk:
  1. Launch EchoTk by typing "echotk" at an IRIX prompt
  2. Select Version... from the Help menu.
  3. Click on the Okay button one time (using Button 1) when you are finished.

• For Echo:
  1. Launch Echo by typing "ee" at an IRIX prompt
  2. Check the Release number in the Banner that is displayed on the screen. For example:

Getting the Update

There are two (2) ways to acquire an update from Cyberware:

1. Download the latest version from the Cyberware FTP site:
   • Point your FTP client to ftp.cyberware.com/dropbox/updates/
   • Make sure that your FTP client is in BINARY transfer mode.
   • Get the file(s) that are available and that you have purchased licenses for.
   • Update the software according to the Update Installation Instructions.

2. Receive the update on a 4mm DAT from Cyberware Support.
   • If you are within the one-year warranty, you are required to pay for the shipping and handling fees.
   • If you are outside the one-year warranty, you are required to pay for the media and all shipping and handling fees. There may also be additional charges for the update itself.
   • Update the software according to the Update Installation Instructions.
