Quick Start
This section provides a brief overview of the more important aspects of
the CyScan application. For more complete information, please refer to the
Reference Section of this User Guide.
General Philosophy
The scanning process basically involves these steps:
- Power up the Whole Body Platform.
- Launch the CyScan software.
- Situate the subject on the Subject Platform.
- Initialize and home the motion system.
- Scan the subject.
- Save the file.
Optionally, you may elect to perform a polygon reduction on the object, and/or
convert the file to another file format. For more information on these
processes, please consult the following sections of the User Guide:
Example
This tutorial only takes a few minutes, but it covers the types of commands
you are likely to use most of the time. The commands used will not be
explained in detail; for further information, please consult the
Reference Section of this User Guide.
- Power up the platform and lights by turning the Main Power Switch (on
the Podium) to the "1" position.
You should see several lights turn on on the Podium, as well as the large
flourescent lights around the platform.
- Login to the workstation.
- Launch CyScan by typing CyScan at the IRIX prompt:
You should see something similar to the following on your screen:
